Misusing the terminology »biodegradable« and »compostable« can be confusing and misleading to the costumer therefore, it is very important to disguise between these terms. Not all bio-based materials are biodegradable, nor all biodegradable materials are compostable, and also not all compostable materials are suitable for home composting. Under invariable pressure from government, costumers, consumers and media, the packaging industry is being forced to think about how its products can be mad sustainable. The concept of sustainability not only combines the environmental but also includes social, ethical and legal issues that can be both internal and external to the company. Evaluation of biodegradability test is accompanied by a simulated composting test and an ecotoxicity test. With worldwide recognized equipment (ECHO respirometer) and a high degree of flexibility, we can help you analyze your product in accordance with applicable standards and recommendations in the field of biodegradability, compostability and ecotoxicity.
