The Papiro-logía exhibition, circular design and the use of paper in the interior, which was opened on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, presents works of students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO). Within the framework of the InnoRenew project ALUO is – together with the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR), the DS Smith Slovenia and our institute – included in the pilot project Establishing an interdisciplinary business chain of paper-made furniture.
Within this network, ALUO students developed various innovative solutions for the use of paper and other natural fibre materials in the interior using our and DS Smith Slovenia’s expert knowledge.
The exhibited products are based on the principles of circular design and focus on reflection of light, sound, children’s play and growing-up, living and working, as well as sustainable and experimentally oriented research of the new use of waste paper.
We supported students with our specialist knowledge and professional advice in the field of natural fibre materials. With the state-of-the-art equipment in our new packaging and graphic center, we also offered them help at prototyping and manufacturing of products.
