The 4th International Circular Packaging Conference (4CPC) took place on 16–17 October 2025 at Center Rog in Ljubljana, bringing together leading experts, researchers, industry representatives, and practitioners dedicated to advancing circular and sustainable packaging systems.
Across two days, the conference created a comprehensive platform for exchanging knowledge, best practices, and research insights. The programme featured a blend of industry perspectives, showcasing practical applications and technological developments, alongside scientific contributions that presented recent studies, analytical approaches, and emerging trends in materials, design, and system-level transformation.
Key themes explored throughout the event included:
- advancements in bio-based, recyclable, and reusable materials,
- circular design strategies and packaging optimisation,
- life cycle assessment (LCA) and evidence-based evaluation methods,
- reuse models, consumer engagement, and behavioural insights,
- ESG considerations and the evolving regulatory landscape.
The conference highlighted the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and the importance of bringing together stakeholders from across the packaging value chain.
